Derek Evans - Co Founder

I find joy with my family, my faith, and building things - whether it be sheds or businesses. After nearly a decade in corporate marketing, I returned to my roots to pursue hands-on craftsmanship in a community I love! Kodiak Sheds is more than a business to me - it’s an opportunity to show my children the principles of hard work, integrity, and choosing a fulfilling path!

Jared Jones - Co Founder

As a devoted family man, I cherish my loved ones and approach every build as if it were for my own family, ensuring durability, care, and excellence in every detail. I’m inspired by the outdoors, from camping to power sports, and deeply value the freedoms we enjoy in America. My goal is to make our customer’s lives easier with thoughtfully designed, expertly-crafted creations.

Kodiak's Story

Kodiak Sheds was created when Derek reached out to Jared about a partnership! They had met about a year prior when Jared was running his own shed building business out of Utah, and Derek was looking to buy that business! Although the deal did not go through due to a move back home to Georgia, the concept of a custom shed building operation stayed rent-free in Derek’s mind!

After searching for contractors for several projects in Georgia, Derek noticed that most were either affordable but flakey…or professional but extremely expensive. This gap opened up the idea to start a niche contracting operation that is fairly-priced without sacrificing solid customer service or professionalism. Jared’s Utah operation immediately came to mind! Sheds are fun to build and in demand in Georgia. Jared had since successfully sold his company to pursue other projects, but realized he missed the shed business. When Derek reached out with a proposal to replicate Jared’s success but in Georgia, both were on board within 48 hours!

Jared and Derek both have years of background in construction and entrepreneurship. They both enjoy creating useful spaces, working outdoors, and both believe in down-to-earth solid customer service while providing ONLY high quality products.
